Picture Books as Complex Texts, Supporting the Advanced Literacy Learner K-5 FULL

In this book rich presentation, we will explore the many ways that picture books can challenge our advanced and accelerated  literacy learners.  Among the topics discussed will be to examine books using the whole book approach, as well as look at picture books that break the typical narrative structure and challenge readers and writers with critical and creative thinking.  Resources will be provided to support classroom implementation.
