About me
Mrs. Owens serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Learning and Programs at Golf School District 67 in Morton Grove, IL. As the Assistant Superintendent, her duties include MTSS/SEL Director, Student Services Director, Discrimination Coordinator and Complaint Manager amongst many other roles. Mrs. Owens is most passionate about racial and educational equity, especially for students from marginalized communities. She is dedicated and invested in preventing students of color from entering the school to prison pipeline.
Prior to entering educational administration, Mrs. Owens served students and families over the past 32 years as a PBIS External Coach, School Social Worker, Individual, Family, and Group Therapist, Court Appointed Parent Educator and Advocate, Foster Care Case Manager and Home Licensee, and Residential Treatment Case Manager. Ms. Owens has also spoken at local, state, and national conferences on MTSS/SEL implementation, data driven decisions, and sustainable practices; diversity, equity, and inclusion practices; and restorative justice and trauma informed practices
